FELICITY PEPPERPOT Million Dollar Christmas Felicity Pepperpot is practically the poster girl for the textbook Brit Pop Girl story. Starting out as an unheralded backup singer for teen idol Trevor Biscuit, her big break came when she took the stage in the role of Clara in the original West End production of "Bob's Yer Uncle" on the day after Halloween, stepping in for Gladiola Buckminster after the tragic trick or treating incident that cost the veteran West End thespian her legs. The day after the London Times dubbed her "Really quite good!," the record offers came pouring in, and she had hit after hit for a blazing run of four years. Her streak of fortune led to a key supporting role in the seminal film, "Girl Meets Teacher," after which she was seldom heard from until a career renaissance that was touched off by an album of traditional Shaker songs reinterpreted for a 21st century audience. Today, Pepperpot keeps busy both by researching new music for future album projects (she promises a Gamelan double-CD for 2016!), and practicing her long-honed hobby of tornado chasing in the English lake country, where she has made her home since retiring from live performing. Felicity Pepperpot's memorable performance of the Bah & the Humbugs classic, "Million Dollar Christmas," was recorded for soda giant Savannah Steam's history-making one million dollar giveaway. After the drink was found to be toxic to anyone with blood types A, B, AB, or O, bankrupting the company and consigning the beloved cumin-flavored soft drink to the vaults of history, the sweepstakes ended abruptly with no winner, and only 386 of the 15,000 pressed singles given away. The remaining 14,614 copies of Pepperpot's "Million Dollar Christmas" were auctioned off by Savannah Steam's creditors, and copies can frequently be found on eBay for prices approaching as much as $17 US.
